Vitamins are

Essential to Life

Who should take vitamins?

According to modern day scientific research, everybody should take vitamins. The day of saying that a well balanced diet will provide all the nutrients required to maintain our health is over. A healthy diet is vital, but recently published studies show we can't achieve optimal health benefits from diet alone. Vitamin supplements are essential today.

What are vitamins?

Vitamins are essential to life. They contribute to good health by regulating the metabolism and assisting the biochemical process that releases energy from digested food. Vitamins are considered micronutrients because the body needs them. Vitamins work as coenzymes with enzymes in the body, thereby allowing all activities that occur weaken the body to be carried out as they should.

Of the major vitamins, some are water soluble and some are oil soluble. Water soluble vitamins must be taken into the body daily, because they cannot be stored and are excreted within one to four days. The water soluble include vitamin C and the B complex vitamins. Oil soluble vitamins can be stored for longer periods of time in the fatty tissue of the liver. These include vitamins A, D, E, and K. Both water and oil soluble vitamins are needed by the body for proper functioning.

Are all vitamins from natural sources?

Vitamin supplements can be divided into two groups, synthetic and natural. Synthetic vitamins are produced in laboratories from isolated chemicals that resemble the ones found in nature. Whereas, natural vitamins are derived from real food sources. Although some say there are no major chemical differences between a vitamin found in food and the one created in a laboratory, synthetic supplements contain the isolated vitamins only, while natural supplements contain other nutrients as well. Some nutrients not yet discovered!!

Beware of synthetic laboratory produced vitamins!!

Studies have shown that using natural vitamin supplements have three to five times the potency over the synthetic laboratory produced vitamins. Furthermore, the natural supplements under the microscope show live energy ...the synthetic vitamins show no activity at all. An example, vitamin E is made synthetically from petroleum or from sources such as soybeans and many also include coal tars, artificial coloring, preservatives, sugar, and starch, as well as other additives. You should beware of such harmful elements.

Example vitamin E:

  • Natural source d-alpha tocopherol
  • synthetic source dl-alpha tocopherola

Make sure your vitamin is designed to keep up with the latest science. Optimal levels of nutrients should be provided to deliver all the health benefits widely reported in clinical studies.

Take note: there are no drugs that can compare with vitamin E in regards to prevention of heart attack. A person would have to consume a jar of wheat germ everyday to obtain that much vitamin E. A minimum of 400 units of vitamin E is needed to keep cholesterol from hardening within artery walls, which is impossible to consume from food alone.

  • Bottom line. Everybody should take vitamin supplements.

  • Everybody should be supplementing with a multivitamin supplying vitamin, minerals and enzymes.
